As I laid the foundation to describe what true healing is, I previously stated that based on 4 assumptions about God:
1. that God “is”
2. that God is creatorship of all reality
3. that God is complete, perfect and whole
4. that God is, above all, infinite, unspeakable, unconditional Love,
God would not create beings that are lesser than himself and he would not create a world such as the one we seemingly live in.
If these assumptions make sense to you then there cannot be any doubt that God, therefore, created us as perfect, identical extensions of himself. This also leads to the understanding that - metaphysically speaking – the world is a so-called non-dualistic reality of perfect Oneness. Therefore, the “dualistic”, imperfect world in which we seem to live is essentially a massive, collective and individual illusion (more about that in another discussion).
As nice and potentially powerful the above inference about the nature of (Divine) reality is, it is nevertheless not proof. It is based on four assumptions we made about God. Ultimately, there is no logical/philosophical proof. The good news is however that proof is not only unnecessary, it misses the point of everything: life is experience. It’s all about experience, and in reality, nothing else exists but experience. In other words, we cannot prove what the Essence of life is, as we cannot prove the existence of Divinity (which are the same, yet a point for another discussion) but we can experience Divine existence and life’s Essence.
So the big question about life is: What experiences are available to us as a choice and what is the outcome of this choice? This question leads us to the topic of this discussion, namely, the secret formula of true healing: get real.

Last week I stated that true healing means accessing reality and also reality is infinite, eternal perfection which is Love. This is the reality that God created and this is the reality of what you and I are because we are perfect extensions of the Divine. And nothing else truly exists.
Given our general understanding of the nature of God, it is self-evident and logical that God would not create beings that are lesser than himself. (See last week.) Naturally the question arises: if not God, who did create this imperfect universe? Who then created these beings called humans who can be unloving and have countless psychological issues because they are predominantly in fear? Why do they seem to be very limited in many ways by having bodies, including the fact that they get sick and die?
In my understanding the answer is: nobody. Human beings were never truly created. They only exist in our imagination. We are all imagining ourselves to be human; that’s all it is and that’s our only “problem." It is essentially all a dream.
This point of view naturally leads to the next very good question: why then are we doing this to ourselves?
Well, first if all, there’s really good news here: we are doing this only to an imaginary part of ourselves. Our real Selves, our Spirit nature, or “higher Self” still exists as God created it (and which is our true source of healing). It’s only that within that Divine consciousness a crazy idea “came” about (“came” is in “ “ because in reality there is no time): what if I play God? What would it be like if I created my own world, a world different from God? And because God created a complete, perfect and whole world – a “closed system” so to speak - there is “no room” for another world. In other words, any other “world” would logically have two characteristics: if it’s going to be different in any way, then it would have to be the complete opposite, and it could not be real…only a dream, or illusion. This thought of separating ourselves from God’s reality (Oneness = only Love) into a world of multiplicity (dualistic) in which the experience of non-love is possible is the birth of the ego.
So, in my understanding, this Universe is an attempt to revolt against God, to have the experience of being special and individualistic outside of the Oneness that God created.

“What do mean, ‘get real’ “, you might ask. And I would answer: “Exactly that. We have problems, we have issues, illnesses, all our challenges, because we’re not being real. We’re being (thinking, acting, living) according to what we think we are and not in alignment with what we really are. In other words, we live in an illusion of who or what and where we are."
For most of us, our every day life is our reality. Believe me, it isn’t. Reality is very, very different.
If this concept is new to you, I do not blame you if you are now tempted to think this guy douglas economy is crazy and hit the click button. If you do, there is a great likelihood that you will miss out on an insight that will change your life, drastically. If you don’t, then you will inevitably come to the exact same conclusion about us and our world if you share the following four beliefs. (If you don’t share these beliefs, then I can guarantee you that at some point you will experience that this stuff is true, because the experience of it is inevitable and universal…it just might take some time…years or life-times.)
Ok. The four beliefs are:
- God IS
- God is creatorship
- God is complete, perfect and whole
- And most of all, God is unspeakable, infinite Love
If these four statements ring true to you then two things follow:
* the nature of all our problems and their solution is ultimately a spiritual one
* our world that is full of suffering, limitations and imperfections cannot be real
If God has the attributes that we above ascribed to Her/Him/It, then why would He/She/It not create perfect beings, in a perfect world that would be able to completely share His magnificence, glory, joy, peace and most of all, Love? The answer is: he did.
Many people think that we are in this world to learn and grow. Why would God create beings who need to learn and grow? The answer is: he didn’t.
“So who created this world then, and why," you might ask. I will answer that in my next entry.
Love and Light, douglas
